The San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) chapter organizes throughout the Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties, including the cities of Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose. We partner with major universities in the area such as UC Berkeley, San Francisco State University, and Santa Clara University to bring awareness on how transnational feminism addresses complex issues related to violence against women, reproductive justice, trafficking, and police brutality. The SFBA chapter participates in and plans May Day and International Women’s Day celebrations, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, as well as anti-militarization rallies and forums, indigenous people’s ceremony and anti-colonial demonstrations, moving beyond solidarity towards an anti-imperialist, transnational feminist praxis. The SF Bay Area Chapter has hosted the 2015 Dalit Women Fight! Tour and presented at conferences, including: the Empowering Women of Color Conference (EWOCC) & Conference on Third World Multiracial Solidarity and Community Engagement.
