The fascist in power wishes to remain in power. That is why he spent 2020 mismanaging the pandemic and playing with our lives. That is why his party hurried to confirm Amy Coney Barrett as the next Supreme Court justice. That is why he has spent the year undermining our ability to cast a ballot in this election. And now he is trying to outright stop the ballots we’ve cast from even being counted.

The President of the United States is trying to prevent his own defeat by obstructing democracy and illegitimately and baselessly challenging our votes.

His unqualified pick for the Supreme Court, his personal record of rape and sexual assault, his attempts to strikethrough the rights of trans and gender nonconforming people from our laws; they are all clanging reminders of what Donald Trump’s plan is for women, girls and feminized people of color. This brazen attempt to steal this year’s election in broad daylight, shows that this man is extremely desperate and will go to great lengths to fulfill his plans, regardless of how foul they may be. Donald Trump is an opportunist seeking to revive the vestige of slavery that is already embedded in the Constitution. Another Trump presidency is a knock against humanity and a consolidation of white supremacy.

Trump, his corps of white nationalists, and the militarized patriarchy of the future can be stopped. The people—not legal strategies—will ensure that the fascist misogynist-in-chief retires, and that we usher in a new leader this election.

Beginning November 4, 2020, we have a duty to demand democracy. Our ancestors have survived so much just so we could be here. Let us honor their existence, their sacrifices and their victories. Our path to liberation will not dissolve beneath our feet.

This week AF3IRM will be in the streets in cities across Turtle Island and in Hawai’i, joining the mass movement of our siblings to protect one another from outright fascism.

History is being written as it unfolds. We encourage you to join us in public protest wherever you are, and join us in the struggle for genuine liberation beyond.

Leadership matters especially when working within a system that in its purest form, has benefited from the genocide of indigenous populations and institutionalized the second-class and subordinate position of Black, Indigenous, Women of Color on this land. Turn our righteous rage into action. Regardless of the election outcome, the fight has just started. We must continue organizing for liberation. For today and beyond, get connected and organized.

We are a grassroots BIWOC organization and we encourage you to donate to the cause.
