Solidarity Greetings !

The Manggagawa para sa Kalayaan ng Bayan or Workers for Peoples Liberation (MAKABAYAN) salutes Filipinas and Americans of Filipino descent who worked hard to form AF3rm and make today’s launching possible.

Your work to unite transnational Filipinas and fight for their rights finds even more meaning now that more and more Filipinas look for the so-called greener pasture as the situation of our export-oriented and import-dependent and debt-driven economy is worsening.

The recent trafficking of around 350 Filipino teachers to Louisiana that were kept as indentured servants underlines the desperate situation in our country.  And the fact that the Philippine government hardly did anything to fight for those teachers shows how important it is for Filipinas and Americans of Filipino Descent to unite and fight.

We understand that the issues you are confronted are not simply about your rights as workers.  You are facing a myriad of problems as migrants.  You have your own strategies. You have your own creative ways to fight.

But we find common ground in fighting imperialism and we are confident that you only want the best to happen to the Philippines.

We wish you more achievements in your struggle and we hope to find many areas for collaboration.

In Solidarity,

Manggagawa Para sa Kalayaan ng Bayan

Workers for Peoples Liberation

(MAKABAYAN)
